待沽之際
跫音掺和輕雨
漫了側顏
鹹透刺耳的叨嘮
在薄暮
眼眸相映橙波
染了扉頁
擰出連綿的書聲
在傍晚
亂線眷戀狂筆
纏了方寸
道盡待沽的抱負
在深夜
鳥語驚破黎明
醒了幽夢
掙開魑魅的枷鎖
在初曉
Petty pace blends with drizzle
While the face is soaked.
The dreary nagging sounds harsh
At gloomy dusk.
Clear eyes mirror the glimmering light,
Dye the pages,
And wring out the rustling of turning pages
In the misty evening.
Messy wires obstruct epic works.
The heart is entangled
Exhibiting uncertain ambitions
At forlorn midnight.
Tweets of birds knock the daybreak,
Wake surreal dreams up,
Also throw off phantom chains
At promising dawn.

秋襲霜降近孤寂
落楓殘紅難綴豔
韶光颯颯催人心
跫音倉迫顯愁煩
相求光陰莫消殞
徒留悔悵盪心田
此刻只聞驅車聲
前暇春夏不復返
The rushing waves
Of autumn;
The frost soak my heart
With solitude.
What a difficult moment to
Display nature's vigor due to
The falling maple leaves
And scattering petals.
Urgent paces of Time
Ruthlessly and roughly bring
The pressure to me making
Me despair hopelessly.
I beg Time not to sneak
so promptly,
But the only thing left in my mind
Is remorse.
Now, all I can hear is
The sharp engine sound of the vehicles.
No more fascinating times of the past
Will come back again.

清水斷崖
渺霧輕雲盤聳巒
翠波碧芳倚峻壁
若非地動伴遽坡
萬年峭壑未能成
佇步凝眺迎清風
靜聞瀾聲傍水漪
深望彼端盼斷思
紛緒託鷹訴崖巔
Thin fog encircles the peak along with light clouds, while emerald waves sway vibrantly in the wind, and magnificent blossoms spread the mountain which is picturesque. Were it not for the massive earthquakes, there would not be precipitous slope and sheer cliff. I keep my pace leisurely to listen to the murmur of the waves and indulge in this vivid view as the wind blows gently. I gaze at the mountain on the other side to think my future while a hawk hovers in the sky. At this moment, I wish it could take away my fears and worries.

寂夜∙愁夜
寂寥數燈點靜晚
億昔二八年少時
散星孤光映謐夜
窮留苦嘆淌心頭
獨缺嬋娟懸黯空
唯存西風沒秋蟬
遙外暮煙冉升際
盼能捎愁翳天廳
A little light brightens a quiet lonely night as scattered stars flash in the darkness without moon rising. It indeed brings back those superb memories. Unfortunately, the only thing I can do is to sigh for the incapability of turning back the clock to times of the past. Now, the sound is a mixure of wind and chirrups of cicadas, and the chimney smoke rises in the distance. What I wish for is that my concerns and uneasiness could vanish as the smoke disappears in the sky.

Desiring to have vast wealth is a ridiculous dream to realize. How fortunate a person is to have intimate family and grow up in a peaceful environment. However, things turn out contrary to the way one wishes. The result is not ideal as Bao-yu longs for. Instead, he catches a fleeting glimpse of Bao-chai through silky veil. The most mournful is that Dai-yu dies alone with tear-streaked face. What a tragic destiny for these three people.
